Over the past five years, climate change has become a perceived reality; we face a melting polar ice cap, a rise in the average sea level… yes, global warming has become a realization. Last week, President-elect Barack Obama held a press conference to formally announce members of his energy and environment team. The people he chose for these posts represented a drastic change from the previous administration, pledging serious commitment and allegiance to finding solutions to global warming, an issue which is now regarded as a matter of national security.
